Objective

To update the learners competencies to meet the currency requirements of this unit of competency in relation to changes to legislation, practices, standards and guidance notes related to risk management in the resources industry. The content covered includes:

 

  • Risk management focusing on
    • the appropriate identification of hazards and analysis of risk
    • selection and implementation of control measures
  • Incident investigation focusing on
    • adequate preparation for conducting an investigation
    • appropriate analysis of information to identify immediate causes (contributing factors) and underlying (real) causes
  • Communicate information focusing on
    • Appropriate communication skills to deliver a shift meeting or toolbox talk
