Objective

To develop or enhance the skills and knowledge required to effectively identify and discuss the challenges we face, attempting to achieve our life goals, including developing an awareness of our conflicting needs, demands and expectations  - this is paramount in the development of coping strategies for today’s busy world. The program will look at the nature of work today. Are modern work practices helping or hindering the individual’s ability to achieve balance in their life?  How are communities, families and our related roles changing?  Topics covered in the learning program include:

  • Goal Theory.
  • Where do I want to be in five, ten, twenty years?
  • Personal, Family, Community Values.
  • Motivation Theory – hierarchy of needs, why do we do what we do?
  • Rewards – intrinsic and extrinsic.
  • What stops us from achieving our goals? (e.g learned helplessness)
  • The relationship between self esteem and goal fulfillment.
  • Identify the stressors in your life – how do they relate to your goals?
  • Eustress and Distress – what is the difference?
  • Managing Stress – impact on performance – relaxation techniques.
  • Modern work practices – what can we do on a daily basis to balance work and life successfully?
  • Development of personal plans to achieve a better work/life balance.

Delivery

Class room based delivery at our venue, or delivered specifically for clients at their venue and contextualised to the client’s specific systems.

Accreditation

Participants in this learning program will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
