Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104)

Duration
10 days of face to face delivery (total).

Objective
This learning program aims to develop or enhance the skills and knowledge required to deliver training in an industry area or area of subject matter expertise, and to conduct competency based assessment in a range of contexts.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment requires participants to complete 14 units of competency to attain the qualification. These 14 units are delivered over 5 learning programs:

  1. Train One to One.
  2. Assess Competence.
  3. Train Groups.
  4. Design and Manage Assessment.
  5. Manage Learning and Development.

Delivery
Class room based delivery at our venue, or delivered specifically for clients at their venue and contextualised to the client’s specific systems.

Accreditation
This learning program meets the requirements of the Nationally recognised qualification from TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package.

Participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment upon achieving competence in each Learning Program. Your Qualification will be issued on the successful completion of all five (5) Learning Programs (comprising 14 units).

Train One to One – Providing Learning Opportunities to Individuals

This learning program applies to personnel in the workplace who are responsible for the delivery of training on a “one to one” or “small group” basis. This training is typically provided by a supervisor or experienced worker. The learning program addresses the skills and knowledge required to organise and conduct training through a planned approach. The workplace trainer is not responsible for the development of training resources. The units of competency which have been clustered for this learning program are:

  • TAADEL301A Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills
  • TAADEL403A Facilitate individual learning

We recommend the following personnel attend this learning program:

  • Workplace Trainers
  • Training Coordinators / Managers

This learning program will be delivered over two (2) days. Additional support days are available where there is a requirement for participants to complete all assessment within the training period.

Assess Competence – Collecting Evidence

This learning program applies to personnel in the workplace who are responsible for conducting competency assessment in accordance with a developed system (including assessment plan, procedures, tools etc). It involves the collection, examination, documentation of quality evidence and making a judgment of competence against the relevant criteria. The workplace assessor is not responsible for the development of assessment tools. The unit of competency covered by this learning program is:

  • TAAASS402A Assess competence

We recommend the following personnel attend this learning program:

  • Workplace assessors (operators/supervisors)
  • Training coordinators / managers (with responsibility for conducting assessment)
This learning program will be delivered over two (2) days. Additional support days are available where there is a requirement for participants to complete as much assessment as possible within the training period.

Train Groups – Providing Learning Opportunities to Large Groups

NOTE: We recommend attendance and/or competence for the learning program “Train One to One” (or equivalent) prior to attending Train Groups.

This learning program applies to trainers/facilitators in the workplace who are responsible for developing a delivery plan to guide and manage training delivery to a large group of people. It encompasses interpreting the learning environment and delivery requirements for a group of learners, developing session plans, and preparing and organising the resources required. It covers the competencies for delivering training and facilitating learning to a group using a range of delivery methods. The units of competency which have been clustered for this learning program are:

  • TAADEL401A Plan and organise group based delivery
  • TAADEL404A Facilitate group based learning

We recommend the following personnel attend this learning program:

  • Workplace trainers responsible for large group delivery
  • Training Coordinators / Managers
This learning program will be delivered over two (2) days. Additional support days are available where there is a requirement for participants to complete all assessment within the training period.

Design and Manage Assessment – Assessment Processes

NOTE: We recommend attendance and/or competence for “Assess Competence” (or equivalent) prior to attending this learning program.

This learning program applies to personnel in the workplace who are responsible for planning, conducting and validating assessments, and developing assessment tools. It focuses on the development of an assessment plan, collecting and interpreting evidence. The program also covers the development of effective and relevant assessment tools, and the competencies required to participate in assessment validation. The units of competency which have been clustered for this learning program are:

  • TAAASS401A Plan and organise assessment
  • TAAASS403A Develop assessment tools
  • TAAASS404A Participate in assessment validation

Manage Learning and Development - Units to complete the Certificate IV

This learning program applies to personnel who are required to complete the qualification Certificate IV in Assessment and Training. The learning program focuses on the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in the vocational, education and training (VET) sector and promote a positive and inclusive learning culture which actively acknowledges, respects and builds on the individual differences of learners. It also covers the skills and knowledge needed to identify the parameters of a learning program, determine the design, outline the content and review its effectiveness. The learning program also covers the skills and knowledge involved in using the work process and the work environment as the basis for learning in the workplace. The units of competency which have been clustered for this learning program are:

  • TAAENV401A Work effectively in vocational education and training
  • TAAENV402A Foster and promote an inclusive learning culture

This learning program aims to enhance current skills and knowledge and develop the new skills and knowledge required to meet the requirements of this qualification. The learning program is appropriate for training coordinators and managers, and others who would like to achieve a relevant qualification.

Accreditation
This learning program meets the requirements of the Nationally recognised qualification from TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package.
