Management that actively promotes and encourages two way communication in relation to health and safety is able to use the ideas, expertise and solutions of all staff. WHS representatives are there to assist the employer in identifying and addressing safety issues and ensure that information is passed on to other workers and that items raised by workers are addressed at safety meetings.

Objective
To develop or enhance skills and knowledge required to operate safely and effectively in their work role and be aware of their obligations under the Qld Workplace Health and Safety Act. Topics covered in the learning program include:

  • Overview of the Qld Workplace Health and Safety Act and associated documents.
  • Responsibilities of management, workers, representatives, WHSOs and committees.
  • The risk management approach to OH&S management.
  • The operation of an OH&S Committee.

Delivery
Class room based delivery at our venue, or delivered specifically for clients at their venue and contextualised to the client’s specific systems.

Accreditation
Participants in this learning program will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
