Safety Mining
 
Generic Induction – Coal Surface (30254QLD) and/or Metalliferous Core (30256QLD) and/or Extractive (30253QLD)

Duration
2 Days

Objective
To develop or enhance skills and knowledge required to work safely on a mine site. Upon the successful completion of one or more of these learning programs, the worker can obtain a credit card sized ‘Generic Induction passport’. When this is presented at a Queensland mine site, the worker then only needs to complete a site induction that covers site specific issues and practices.

National On Site Training delivers Generic Induction under licence to the Queensland Mining Industry Skills Council.

Accreditation
These learning programs have been included on the National Register for Accredited Courses.

Apply Risk Management Processes (formerly QMS1 - MNCG1001A and/or MNMG325A)

Duration
One Day

Objective
This learning program covers the skills and knowledge required to appropriately identify hazards, analyse and assess risks, recommend treatment, contribute to implementation of treatments and to monitor risks. It also covers participation in the preparation, testing and documentation of site work instructions/procedures or equivalent.

Delivery
Class room based delivery at our venue, or delivered specifically for clients at their venue and contextualised to the client’s specific systems.

Accreditation
This learning program meets the requirements of the Nationally recognised unit of competency from:

  • MNC04 Coal Training Package.
  • MNM05 Metalliferous Mining Training Package.

Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (formerly QMS2 - MNCGIO08A and/or MNMG326A)

Duration
One Day

Objective
This learning program covers the skills and knowledge required to conduct safety and health investigative processes at the operational level, including the identification and collection of evidence, the analysis of evidence to identify the reasons for and results of the occurrence or situations, and the identification and documentation of courses of action to resolve and/or prevent re occurrence of the issues or problems.

One Day

Objective
This learning program covers the skills and knowledge required to function effectively to communicate information with other persons in the mining industry. This includes communicating verbally, communicating in written form, participating in meetings, making presentations, and participating in operational level negotiations.

Implement and Apply Risk Management Processes (MNCG1002A - known as G2)

Duration
2 Days

Objective
This learning program covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and apply risk management processes within an established system for a mine site/area, including the application of local hazard identification, formal risk assessment and implementation of risk controls. It includes the monitoring of the system, reporting on implementation issues, communication of processes and systems, and the review and auditing of the risk management processes and systems.

Accreditation
