Safety - Mining Industry Refresher Training
 
Generic Induction – Coal Mining Core (30643QLD) and/or Metalliferous Core (30256QLD) and/or Extractive (30253QLD)

Duration
5 hours (approximately)

Objective
To ensure the learner has the current competencies that meet the requirements of this short course/s. This is an assessment only pathway.

National On Site Training delivers Generic Induction under licence to the Queensland Mining Industry Skills Council.

Class room based delivery at our venue, or delivered specifically for clients at their venue and contextualised to the client’s specific systems.

Accreditation
These learning programs have been included on the National Register for Accredited Courses.

Apply Risk Management Processes (formerly QMS1 - MNCG1001A and/or MNMG325A), Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (formerly QMS2 - MNCG1008A and/or MNMG326A) and Communicate Information (formerly QMS3 - MNCG1009A and/or MNMG327A)

Duration
One and ½ Days plus assessment (if certification is required)

Objective
This refresher training covers the key concepts required to be competent for these units of competency including:

    • Risk Management focusing on
      • the appropriate identification of hazards and analysis of risk
      • selection and implementation of control measures
      • Will include conducting a practical JHA with NOST trainer providing constructive feedback.
    • Incident Investigation focusing on
      • adequate preparation for conducting an investigation
      • appropriate analysis of information to identify immediate causes (contributing factors) and underlying (real) causes
    • Communicate information focusing on
      • Appropriate communication skills to deliver a shift meeting or bench talk
      • Will include each participant delivering a shift meeting or bench talk with NOST trainer providing constructive feedback.

This learning program meets the requirements of the Nationally recognised units of competency from:

  • MNC04 Coal Training Package.
  • MNM05 Metalliferous Mining Training Package.

Implement and Apply Risk Management Processes (MNCG1002A - known as G2)

Duration
4 hours face to face contact plus assessment (if certification is required)

Objective
This refresher training covers the key concepts required to be competent for this unit of competency including:

    • Risk management with a focus on ‘acceptable levels of risk’
    • Skills, knowledge and attributes of effective facilitators
    • Facilitating an appropriate risk assessment including - 
      • Identify team ground rules (if appropriate)
      • Clearly identify topic and scope of the risk assessment
      • Guide the group through each step in the process
      • Keep the group focussed (car park if necessary) and motivated
      • Manage any difference of opinion / conflict
      • Thoroughly and accurately documenting the risk assessment

Accreditation
This learning program meets the requirements of the Nationally recognised unit of competency from MNC04 Coal Training Package.
